of HMS Communications between two worthy recipients--one close to home, the other reaching around the world. New Horizons Ministries reaches out to street-involved youth in Seattle, maintaining a full-time downtown drop-in center that provides food, personal care, assistance and hope. Their dedicated staff and numerous volunteers seek out and build relationships with physically, emotionally and spiritually needy young people, and their approach has become a model for similar ministries around the country. World Concern is a Seattle-based relief and development organization that concentrates its resources on helping the poorest of the poor around the world. They provide opportunities for people to become self-reliant and live a better life by learning to read, growing better crops and healthier livestock, drinking clean water and raising healthy families.
